Feature

This level transmitters can be designed to detect the level of powder or fluid in the tank as much as 30 m height.

Description

The vertically anchored wire level transmitter for large tanks has been developed to measure the level in a large tank. Conventional immersion level transmitters might be swept away and unable to measure the powder or liquid in a stirring vessel. This level transmitter can be effectively used in such applications. Each unit is designed for the fluid condition of each target tank for safe level measurement.

Operating
principles

Every material has intrinsic electrical characteristics such as permittivity and conductivity. Housings are installed at top and bottom of the tank (silo) to anchor the wire probe. The probe detects capacitance that changes with increases or decreases of the object being measured and converts the detected capacitance into a standardized signal.

Characteristic

DITECH fabricates the wire to desired specifications at its factory according to tank height, ranging from small tanks up to 10 m high, to large-class tanks over 20 m high. One housing contains a wire length adjuster to enable the operator to adjust the wire flexure without removing the wire. This level transmitters assure a highly reliable and stable detection for powder having a low apparent dielectric constant. Covered wire for prevention of contamination is also available.

This model is composed of detector unit with 2 housings and 1 wire, transducer, relay power source and special cable that is 4 core control cable. As the transducer is designed to be installed in a dangerous area, the special cable can be made short enough to minimize picked-up noises, thus permitting a stable performance to be obtainable. As to performance, this model has the same characteristics as those of Model QBS-AW.
