If water gets into oil, the relative permittivity of the oil increases. If no chemical reaction results from the mixing, the relative permittivity of the mixture follows the logarithmic law. The capacitive moisture-in-oil meter is designed for manufacturing processes to detect moisture content by identifying the relative permittivity of the mixture.
By utilizing the fact that there is a large difference in dielectric constant between water and oil, this detector converts the correction with dielectric constant and conductivity owing to the mixing ratios of oil and water proportionally to an electric signal. This signal is converted to an on- off signal by a switching circuit and is withdrawn as a contact output.

This model is composed of detector unit, transducer, relay power source and special cable that is 4 core control cable. As the transducer is designed to be installed in a dangerous area, the special cable can be made short enough to minimize picked-up noises, thus permitting a stable performance to be obtainable. As to performance, this model has the same characteristics as those of Model QBS-MO.
